Star of the Seas is the second Icon-class ship, slated to debut in August 2025 as the newest addition to Royal Caribbean’s fleet. Built on the revolutionary design of Icon of the Seas, Star of the Seas is projected at around 250,800 GT with a similar length (~1,198 ft) and capacity (approximately 7,600 passengers at maximum). It will carry forward all the signature elements of the Icon class – from the resort-style neighborhoods and expansive water park to cutting-edge dining and entertainment venues. As an LNG-powered ship, Star of the Seas continues Royal Caribbean’s push for innovation and sustainability in cruising. Guests can expect an ultimate family vacation experience with the same wow-factors: multi-story slides, numerous pools and whirlpools, the panoramic AquaDome, and a host of new shows and attractions (to be revealed) tailored for this vessel.
Unique features:
Next-generation mega-ship: Will be among the world’s largest cruise ships upon launch in 2025, essentially matching her sister Icon in size and capacity. Star of the Seas is anticipated to offer the “ultimate family vacation” experience with every major Icon-class attraction and some new enhancements.
Latest in design and tech: Represents the latest evolution of the Icon class – featuring all the groundbreaking amenities (such as the surf simulator, waterpark, AquaDome, and diverse themed zones) while incorporating any refinements learned from Icon’s debut. As Royal Caribbean’s newest ship, it will also showcase the newest entertainment productions and activities unique to its inaugural season.
Last major drydock/update: N/A – New ship launching in 2025. (No prior refurbishments; she will enter service freshly built.)
