Harmony of the Seas, launched in 2016, is the third Oasis-class ship. At 226,963 GT and about 1,188 feet long, she was the largest cruise ship in the world when introduced, edging past her older sisters. Harmony can host around 5,500 guests (double occupancy), with up to 6,687 passengers when fully loaded. The ship is known for blending Oasis-class neighborhoods with even more thrills: Harmony debuted the Ultimate Abyss dry slide (the first ship to ever have this multi-deck spiral slide at sea) and a trio of water slides called The Perfect Storm, bringing true waterpark fun to an Oasis-class ship for the first time. Other highlights include the Boardwalk’s classic carousel, two FlowRiders, mini-golf, a zip line, the Rising Tide bar, and Broadway hit musical Grease. Harmony of the Seas is often celebrated for its colorful art (including the giant metallic purple octopus on the aft slide tower) and high-tech amenities (such as RFID wristband technology and fast internet).
Unique features:
First with big slides: Harmony was the first Oasis-class ship to feature a water slide complex and a 10-deck dry slide. The Ultimate Abyss – a twin tunnel dry slide dropping riders 10 stories – premiered on Harmony, as did The Perfect Storm water slides. These additions made Harmony the most adventure-packed of the Oasis ships at the time.
Refined entertainment: This ship introduced Grease as its Broadway show and new high-tech puzzles like a dedicated escape room. Harmony also has unique art installations (like the full-sized copy of the 10,000-piece “Puzzle Break” escape room game) and was constructed with advanced design tweaks for efficiency. It features the Bionic Bar (robotic bartenders) which, while first seen on Quantum class, was a new addition for Oasis-class on Harmony.
Last major drydock/update: None yet. Harmony of the Seas has not had a major refurbishment since her maiden voyage in May 2016. Aside from routine maintenance and minor cosmetic updates, she remains in her original configuration with all the features she launched with.
