Allure of the Seas, launched in 2010, is the second Oasis-class ship and for a time was technically the largest cruise ship (she was famously measured a few millimeters longer than Oasis). Similar in size, Allure is about 225,282 GT and carries up to 6,780 guests at maximum occupancy. Allure features the same seven-neighborhood layout as her sister, with highlights like Central Park, Boardwalk, an AquaTheater, two FlowRider surf simulators, and an ice rink. She offers Broadway-style entertainment (Allure originally showcased Chicago the musical) and dozens of dining options. Notably, Allure of the Seas was the first ship to offer a Starbucks® at sea and a 3D movie theater. This ship has won awards as one of the most innovative cruise vessels, delivering a resort-like experience on the waves.
Unique features:
Central Park & Boardwalk: Like Oasis, Allure has the lush Central Park garden and Coney-Island-inspired Boardwalk, but she introduced new elements such as the first Starbucks at sea and unique entertainment offerings (including an earlier partnership with DreamWorks for character parades). Allure’s design makes her a “city at sea”, with a spacious Royal Promenade and even a zip line across the Boardwalk.
Recent enhancements: In early 2025, Allure emerged from an extensive amplification, gaining the latest Oasis-class thrills. New to Allure are the Ultimate Abyss dry slide and a trio of Perfect Storm water slides, which were not on the ship originally. She now also boasts a redesigned pool deck with the Lime & Coconut bar and added dining venues (like Giovanni’s Italian Kitchen & Wine Bar and the Mason Jar Southern Restaurant, a new eatery concept). These upgrades ensure Allure offers the same top-tier experiences as her newer sisters.
Last major drydock/update: January–March 2025 – Completed a long-postponed Royal Amplification refit in early 2025. This $100+ million overhaul added the 10-story Ultimate Abyss slide and Perfect Storm water slides, a refreshed pool deck with water park for kids (Splashaway Bay) and The Lime & Coconut bar, new entertainment venues (laser tag and an escape room), and additional dining options. Over 100 new staterooms were added as well. (Allure’s amplification was originally slated for 2020 but was delayed; this 2025 drydock brought her up to date with Oasis-class standards.)
