Anthem of the Seas is the second Quantum-class ship, delivered in 2015. Nearly identical in design to Quantum, she is about 168,666 GT and 1,141 feet long, with capacity for around 4,180 guests double occupancy (up to 4,905 total). Anthem has all the hallmark features of the class: the North Star viewing pod, RipCord skydiving simulator, Two70° lounge, and SeaPlex. One distinction is in entertainment – Anthem’s main theater debuted the musical We Will Rock You (featuring songs of Queen) and Two70 hosted the visually stunning show Spectra’s Cabaret created just for Anthem. The ship is decorated with notable art, including the whimsical “Gigi” – a gigantic pink giraffe statue on deck. Anthem mostly sails out of New Jersey or the UK to various destinations, bringing Quantum-class innovation to those markets. Guests enjoy a variety of cuisines on Anthem, from Jamie’s Italian to Wonderland, and can relax in well-designed spaces like the Solarium at the bow. With skydiving, bumper cars, surf simulator, and more, Anthem of the Seas remains one of the most activity-rich ships in Royal Caribbean’s fleet.
Unique features:
Distinct entertainment: Anthem is known for its exclusive onboard productions. Spectra’s Cabaret in Two70 is a one-of-a-kind multimedia show with a mysterious character “Spectra” guiding through a musical experience – a feature unique to Anthem. Its Royal Theater hosted We Will Rock You, setting Anthem apart with a West End-caliber rock musical not found on other ships.
Art and atmosphere: This ship’s decor includes standout pieces like the scarlet 32-foot giraffe wearing a life ring (a quirky art installation visible on deck) and a huge metallic globe in the Royal Esplanade. Anthem also introduced the Bionic Bar (robotic bartenders) to European cruisers when she homeported in Southampton. These touches give Anthem a personality all her own, blending playful art with futuristic tech.
Last major drydock/update: None yet. Since her April 2015 debut, Anthem of the Seas has not undergone a major refurbishment. The ship has seen only standard maintenance and tech updates (e.g., navigation system upgrades). No significant changes to venues or features have been necessary so far.
